Isn't it great for vivid colour Dawn, like you I have it growing up a plain wall, love it all summer, just wish it was evergreen. Don't forget you can make a pillow of the dried hops, helps if you don't sleep very well.

Lovely splash of colour, Dawn, must look like the sun is shining even when it's not! Beautiful.

Thanks Paul, Motinot.
Yes Gee, you're right - its just like its lit up.
Oh Janey, I didnt know you could do anything with the hops except make beer, lol. I must try that, glad you like yours too, it amazes me how they grow to several feet high in such a short time from ground level. I love them, who needs flowers!
Hi Meadowland, this one is growing in poor soil. Has yours seeded around yet? I find young plants dotted around.

I really love this plant.....it positively glows! :)

Would you like a baby Karen? You can always grow in a pot - this one was in a pot for years :-)

No thanks Dawn. I did plant one at the back of my hot tub to cover the fence but you should have seen it...what a sorry state it was in...all frosted at the edges and literally 'browned off'! I decided it isn't warm enough here. I love the hops too...they remind me of time spent in Kent when I was at school. We used to go to a camp site in the countryside near Canterbury and sing (the choir I was in) in the Cathedral while the boys were on holiday. I absolutely loved Kent..the oasthouses and the orchards...it was so pretty. Maybe I will go back there for a holiday one day.

Thanks again for the offer! :)

No worries Karen.
Kent sounds lovely - and I guess the weather was always hot and sunny :-)
I'm having a frustrating morning - kind of working from home (unpaid) - waiting for some work to come through to sign off - but its not happening. Going to Mum's as she wants me to remove some plants - what an offer! Going soon anyway!

Hope you had a great time at Mum's Dawn. Frustrating morning eh? well, I hope the afternoon is better. It's hurling down here so I'm painting indoors (canvas, not walls for a change!) and listening to Radio 3. :))))

It make a lovey sight growing up your wall, like a Golden Curtain!

Hi PP. sure is, do you have one?
Hi Karen, got the work stuff done and went to Mum's. Have lots of plants to set now, nothing special but 'fillers'. Sounds like you've had an enjoyable day. Heavy showers here too with lots more to come over tne next 2 days, hey ho, at least no watering needs to be done. :)

My little one is growing out of it's pot Dawn , I shall have to decide where to plant it soon !

Just had to cut ours down to the ground the wind and rain had ruined it, will be up and running again no doubt.....yours looks as if it has found the ideal spot there.

What a shame Dotty, they dont like wind do they, browns the leaves. This one is in quite an exposed spot but its south/west facing.

Ah that is lucky.....
