I don't think the 'goo' or the little insect does much harm, just looks messy! I do send off a photo every so often to Gardeners World, Amy, but nothing in print - the standard is so high, but thanks for the compliment :)

Looks like a small version of the Eden project.

That turns into that little 'click beetle'. When to touch its bot it goes 'click' and jumps away. Yesterday was a bit windy wild. Our good nextdoor neighbour had a disaster in his garden yesterday. A large blue climbing shrub ripped its trellis off the fence and bowed out over the border and the lawn. It filled the green bin. I sheered off several shrubs recently to avoid windrock on Thursday....good job I did it.

Goodness, the wind was rocking plants about. It's a bit calmer today and Gerry is going to mow the grass providing it keeps dry for a while. You have to watch the roses in the wind, they tend to come looses at the bottom and need heeling in with some extra compost.
