This is planted in a bed in the garden amongst other plants Sandra so yes it is hardy , I had almost forgotten about it until I saw the flower heads hanging above the other plants ..

Carole I have to admit that as it's in the middle of a bed I've never actually smelt it , I will give it a miss now that you have said that , I expect it would smell oniony ... that would make a pretty lamp Kat or a candle holder the other way round ......

I'll wait until the ground is dry Sandra I don't like stomping through the plants when it's so wet I tread on things I shouldn't :o( I'm naturally clumsy LOL

Another one finished, we had only two appear this year, I love them find them quite fascinating.

I usually have an old pair of rubber things to slip my feet into Sandra the grass is always so wet in the mornings , the Bees do love it Motinot , yours have finished before ours Dd ,it's a shame they don't last longer !

Thanks Fran ,yes they are all on one stem ,there is one slight problem they hang their heads downwards to see their pretty colours you have to be able to look up from underneath .....thats not easy I can tell you !

lol I know! I've been trying to get pics of narcissi from below. sometimes I can lift the bloom with one hand and take a non-blurred pic with the other, but not often - I have one of those foam exercise mats which is handy to lie down on when the grassisn't perfectly dry, but to be honest, getting up and down is more exercise than I fancy!

My Honeybells seem to have just one bud per stem, but then, this is their first year

they will produce more another year Fran , Right now I can hardly stand never mind get down on the ground my back is agony I tripped in a pot hole in a car park last Saturday ,I didn't need that I've had enough problems with burst discs etc in the past Grrrrr ......

oh, hell, Amy! that's rough. did you report it to whoever the car park belonged to? have you tried anything to ease it? a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel might help - prob is, it's almost impossible to do much to one's own back

I didn't Fran ,you know what it's like you carry on and hope its going to be alright , It scares me as I've seen so many specialists and had injections in the spine in years gone by ,I absolutely dread being like that again ,time seemed to be the only real healer ... I have a tens machine on at the moment ,I keep reading stuff some say put ice on some say heat I've tried both today .... groan ..

ice would numb the area, which would only last till the chill wore off, whereas heat (or warmth) would surely relax the muscles in the affected area, and so the effects would last longer?

I had my share of doing the rounds of specialists, but they decided there was nothing they could do - they talked about an op to fuse my lower spine ("if it can't moe it won't hurt"), but had to turn that down - given that I need to hunch over to see, that wouldjust move the strain up to the next set of vertebrae, which in time would go, and need fusing, which would ... until it ended up at the back of my neck.

Not tried TENS - is it as effective as I've heard?

My disc ruptured in my 30's Fran they told me the discs above and below would eventually naturally fuse together It's o.k for a while and then wham another session .. I'm sorry you have problems as well and on top of that your eye sight's not good but you always sound enthusiastic and determined to get things done , I've had a shower and put a hot water bottle on it , the Tens is good in as much as you can feel it's massaging and feel good factor I alternate with other things because you have to limit it to 15 mins at a time ...

my bad eyes and back are connected: after my ision started to go it took my employers six whole years to get me adaoted equipment. I had to literally hang my ribs on the edge of the desk so that I could lie my upper body flat on the desk to bring my nose close enough to the paperwork to be able to just about read it. naturally my back didn't like it, and started complaining immediately, and then seized up, and kept seizing up. I did try to sue them, but the union didn't want to know. sigh.

I try to be cheerful, as there's nothing that can be done about it now - don't always succeed, lol

Oh my goodness Fran that's dreadful ,I often think health & safety have gone to far today but in cases like that the company should be held responsible , is there anything that can be done for your eyes ? my niece has had new lenses in her eyes she is in her 50's and has worn glasses since she was a little girl she is thrilled with the results ... my back problem start from High jumping back in those days we didn't have nice soft pads to land on it was hard ground , I broke a lot of records but it wasn't worth this trouble ....

ooh, that sounds painful, Amy! you'd think they'd use, I don't know, judo crash mats or something to soften the landing a bit - especially if they teach the Fosbury Flop!

My left eye has bleeding dead centre, the right eye is fuzzed; apparently the retina has been pulled out of shape by something or other - I asked the bloke, but all he could say was "it's hereditary" - I asked him *what* was hereditary but he didn't seem to know, just "it's hereditary". It can't be very hereidary, since neither of my parents or any of my grandparents had similar probs!

It was a long time ago Fran ! Do you know I sometimes wonder if these people know what they are talking about in hospitals ,it's like when I send for someone to look at a computer problem they know I don't know and can tell me anything to suit themselves ... it doesn't sound likely that it's hereditary if you can go back a couple of generations , they are coming up with new treatments all the time lets hope one will be for you . How is the non smoking coming along ?

lol think it comes under "BBS" - "baffle them with bs" - jargonese and a lofty "I'm the expert" attitude.

I've not thought for years about seeing what might be done; when I find an optician here, I'll ask, but I can guess the likely response. There was a Russian hospital ship (ifyou can remember that far back), touring the world, doing eye operations; it was in UK when my vision started going, and I did sort of wonder, but did nothing about it - I probably couldn't have afforded it anyway.

I've managed to cut down my smoking a bit - lol I only smoke one at a time now!
