Thanks for naming this one, could not for the life of me remember the name, had it from our County Organizer, can I do a Chelsea chop on it do you know?

11 Jun, 2012

I haven't, but as it's a pratense, it's probably worth a try.

Lovely colour

Love it so delicate and those black anthers really set it off;0)

:-))) The wind flattened this lady, but she stood back up with a bit of help.

Please about that;0)

Which is more than I can say about ours, and she was looking so beautiful......

Very attractive. I have two , very attractive when in flower, but both have remained a bit thin and leggy. Do they eventually make a clump or is that just their nature?

13 Jun, 2012

She is a taller Geranium, but not 'leggy'. Why not try cutting her back as soon as she's flowered? Have yours got enough light? Mine are in quite sunny positions.

OK. Will try that. Thank you

You're welcome. The pratense group do flower again, so cutting it back should do the trick. :-))

Is this pretty much the true colour Spritz? Such a lovely soft colour. How long does she flower? Do you know Orion?:-)

15 Jun, 2012

Yes, it's exactly that colour, Ba. She flowers for several weeks, and will flower again if I cut her back.

Yes, I have Orion. ;-)

16 Jun, 2012

One for the list then;-) Now Orion, what would you say is its habit? Is it similar to Rozanne which grows massive, (height and width) in my garden, or is it more os a sprawler? I bought eight good size healthy ones online, very reasonable price, but somewhat drawn, so sprawly. I've read they prefer sun, will they look better once in the sun for a while do you think? How do you rate them? I bought them to surround surround Rosa Queen of Sweden after noticing my small front beds seemed to be holding water rather too much for my first choice, lavender Little Lady. But I think they would have to be neater than they appear. Sorry for the ramble and brain picking:-) GWL blog now on if you're interested:-)

I wouldn't call them 'neat', Ba. They're not like Rozanne, though. Taller, then they flop in wind or rain.

Yes, I think sun is preferred. I'll look at your blog later - I just came in for a break.

Orion is a lovely one, but she is sprawling through other plants which is fine for me, at least she is not like those pink ones which I cannot get rid of....pretty though they are!!

18 Jun, 2012

Oh Dd! All that time I spent last year battling with the pink ones, and guess what - I didn't win. They're back! I might even try weedkiller if all else fails. :-Z

19 Jun, 2012

My pink ones all vanished a few years ago!

I've just bought some G Elke and Orkney pink:-)

20 Jun, 2012

Oh dear Spritz I really am amazed, if you wanted a plant to spread like they do it wouldn't would it?
Elke is a pretty one BA...

20 Jun, 2012

Yes. I've managed to grow 10 from seed!!!! :-))))))))) I do hope they come 'true' when they flower.

I shall battle on in a small way this year, and (hopefully) go to town on the pink ones again next year. I'm not giving up!
