I hacked this up not really knowing what i was doing but it seems to be fighting back which im glad about now :-)

Thanks suey it was quite big before, do you know how to prune it i dont want it to get huge again now ive put other plants around it :o)

If its a big one Leigh it will alway be big! Best to give it enough room

Should have added that you will be able to lift and divide it every couple of years to help keep it in check. Very easily done just don't let it get huge then you will struggle to get it out the ground.
Is it decideous or evergreen?

I really dont know to be honest scottish. that corner its in has always been a bit overgrown. i tried to dig one of them up but its solid! its not gigantic i suppose, before i chopped it off id say about half a metre ish spread. does that count as a big un? :-)

Dyu know, its growing quite nicely now i mite just keep trimming it so it doesnt get massive again lol it seems to be hardcore! :o)
