of the 8 large plants I bought from Lidl last year, I've still got shreds of most of them; they didn't like all the rain, and when it came to repotting, by the time I'd teased out the dead bits they could go into pots three sizes smaller. ah well, maybe they'll perk up if it stays dry
Still not sure when or if to cut them back, or when to "harvest"

if we get a summer this year! I hadn't known that French Lavender doesn't like to be too damp; don't know if other species are the same, but I'll try for a more rain-tolerant typne next time

They are drought tolerant and can withstand hot sun (huh!)

lol huh indeed! but if I put them in the greenhouse for cover I forget to watre them, and they'd need to be drought-tolerant then! maybe I could rig up some sort of semi-shelter, let some rain through, keep the rest off - think my hebe would appreciate that, too.

No, they don't like rain, but they will perk up with some sun.
