This morning - red sky at 4.30am!

Loved the sky, but didn't capture it very well from the bedroom window . . .

What were you doing up at that time Sheila? It would take a bomb to get me out of bed at 4.30! :D

I've no idea what woke me up Karen! Most unusual I have to say . . . but as soon as I saw the red sky (it really was RED!), I had to have a good look :))

Yes, I bet it was a bird singing that woke you...I would love to be awake at that time in the summer...I love the light mornings..but I just snore away through! :S

Luckily I did go back to sleep . . . :)

So pretty but glowering at the same time, it must be the dark cloud background - marvellous pic. I love sunsets & this one is super.

Red sky in the morning Shepherds warning! Just had a shower here...

Blue sky and sunshine first thing this morning, but clouds building up. VERY windy so will have to keep an eye on the washing on the line!

"Rain before seven - sun before eleven"!!
One from my old mum:)

4 Jul, 2012

I've also heard that one and it does work too :o)))

6 Jul, 2012

Well, it certainly used to, anyway...

I don't think I was thinking straight when I made my last comment! Call it a senior moment! :D

6 Jul, 2012

Lol! I sympathise!

6 Jul, 2012

Also another one from my old mum - " Mist on the hill brings rain for the mill, mist in the hollow, fine day to follow" I've often found that saying to be right - not this year though!!!

6 Jul, 2012

That's a good one. I had heard the "rain before 7..." one. Apparently "average" rain belts cross the country in about 4 hours - or used to, in the olden days!!! And then there's "If there's enough blue to make a pair of...." (we always said "sailor's trousers" but OH's family always said "Donald Duck's trousers". But DD didn't wear trousers!)

6 Jul, 2012

Our lovely croquet coach used that last one (or tried to) Mel - but he said "soldier's trousers"! So I gently corrected him and he roared with laughter . . . Plenty of half-remembered sayings in some of our minds :)

7 Jul, 2012

I remember that one too Mel, - I think I heard it as 'sailors trousers'. I love all these old sayings!

7 Jul, 2012

We had the 'sailors trousers' one when I was a child, but it was red sky at morning, sailors warning...red sky at night, sailors delight. Never quite knew what delighted sailors or the opposite lol. I suppose it depends where you grew up. Also seagulls overhead meant a storm was coming, no rhyme though lol:-)

Evening red and morning gray, a good sign for a fair day.

Keep 'em coming . . . where's Paul when you need him?!
