Peony

Peony

This one hadn't flowered for several years so I divided it up into three pieces earlier this year. One piece has disappeared! The second has survived but without flowers and this one has done really well, another couple of buds still to open. Strangely, it seems more pink than red now!

It is lovely colour and also peony. Do you remember its name? Peonies sometimes do this, if you replant them. It is even miracle, that it blooms this year, when you divided the original cluster of roots this spring.
I once had red peony, very old, so I also divided it in order to boost flowering and it did on next year but - all peony was white as it is until now :))

Plus some bugs ;o) I was once told you couldn't split a Peony but we have done it with success , ours didn't change colour though , perhaps you have created a one off Gill !
