A lovely shot,Muddy..I never see Goldfinches either,but they nest in a large conifer nearby..maybe I shouldn't be so keen to deadhead my Lychnis...!

Oh what a good catch for you with your camera Muddy, so clever. They have just started coming into our town garden. Lots of youngsters with no red tops yet and probably mum and dad. They dote on hulled sunflower seeds. Already they feed when we are sitting about 12 feet away. They lower the feeders pretty fast.....nothing but the best! Put into my faves.

I've been getting and encouraging Gold finches in the garden this year , I haven't any seed heads on my Lychnis yet I will watch out for them when I do !

I've this one Muddy, like Amy, I didn't know that the seeds would be food for the Goldfinches......going to leave those dead heads on now.......:))
