Beautiful one. Do you use some support to their stems? Looks like you don´t.

Thanks everyone, I do stake some of them Kat, they do have a habit of leaning over...
Funnily enough Driad, we usually get these in August, so they're a bit early this year, the rain lol...

they are early, but your garden is a lot earlier than in England must be the French weather is warmer than ours and maybe you are getting some sunshine which is in short supply over here at the moment. lol. raining again this morning and was heavy rain over night.

No, Crissue, it is not because of that. We had drought and hot temeraptures for 2 months and all flowers bloom sooner then normal, even field crops we have received earlier then normal. It is not rain...

Hi B, apart from the awful flooding, the UK has had to endure in some areas, we've been the same here, more Rain than you can shake a stick at....lol, the weekend is forecast to be sunny/cloud, but I just take one day at a time now...
Hi Kat, it was nice to get the rain to start with, the Farmers desperately needed it for the crops, as much as we did for the Garden, but we've had so much of it, Cereal crops are spoiling, Animal feed is wet, so less for Winter months...it's a vicious circle, and yes lots of Plants in the garden are growing fast, the soil is so moist and soft, some plants have to be staked, or they will fall over...

Just today I have heard news and I found people are of course fed by blown up information in order governments justify future increase in prices. For instance in the southern parts of Slovakia the crops of corn and wheat is by 40 % lower then in previous years, but in northern regions it is higher. So we are not so bad on it, but of course prices of foods (cereals, wheat, oils and gaseline too) next year will be influenced by 2012 crops in the USA, Ukraine, China and Russia. The USA already declared the worst crop in 45 years.

There are so many expressions, I should imagine there are many in Slovak too...what you call 'short cut' or 'slang' expressions...lol...

Are gladiolas considered perennials? I love their colors. And that one is soooooo pretty.
