Really beautiful, I'm sure I planted some of these, no doubt it's gone the way of others, slug dinner!

They need to be grown in a pot Sticki as they're absolutely not hardy. The other reason is that if they get too wet before they really start to grow the bulbs will rot. Finally, they need heat, which has been rather lacking this summer.

That will be why on several counts it hasn't appeared! :-(

Take care of those three points and they will thrive!

No just neglect, left them outside through the winter by mistake.

I planted some quite late cos I got them cheap in the supermarket but no sign of them now.

How does this species smell? We grow many species of Hymenocallis in the ground here and most have a nice sweet fragrance.

It is not heavily scented, but smells good.

I worked it out Delonix! That would be the best way to describe the aroma.

I think Crinum 'Queen Emma' is much more fragrant. The flowers and plants are much larger, also. My Queen Emma lily is starting to bloom again. It last bloomed back in mid-March.

That Crinum is a stunner!

Gorgeous, mines just leaves again, don't think my bulbs flowering size yet but its growing :-)

Well done......we are running out of room, we have no greenhouse, so it all has to come inside the garden room with us in the middle lol

Bulb plants such as this are ideal in such situations DD.

I agree if you look after them properly and dont let them get soaking wet!!

They should be dry enough in the shed..........
