Really thrilled with the colour of this new plant.

I wished I'd gone for a blue Budd, but saw the magenta one first! lovely colour, I'd love to have a "blue garden".

Thanks ladies. You know Fran, so would I!

blue fljowers are associated in my mind with woodlands, cool, quiet, restful, shady places, calming and peaceful. maybe it's because of bluebells.

Yes, and I love the way that blue shines out in poor light conditions, and boy have we had poor light conditions Fran!

lol I'm not sure how poor mine are, depends on the basis for comparison, but I could make it shadier - only prob is to arrange a tiny stream to run through the middle of the garden - got to have a stream in a woodland!

Well, there is always the 'representational' solar cascade Fran!
28 Jul, 2012
lol I have one, not enough sun for it to work more than an hour a day when the sun's in the right position to clear the trees on one side and the block of flats on the other - assuming it's not a cloudy day. I've been trying to find cascades that aren't solar or mains electric, but that only leaves batteries, and when I search for those it gives me solar power packs. sigh.

Can't help you there Fran. Sounds like Mains is going to be your best bet.

nods, will be when I move out of here, which I'm trying to work on. As it is, the only way I can get leccy outside is to have it go round two walls to the far side, or on a support over to the back. don't think I'll bother - as I said, looking to move from here (hopefully to a place with a garden sized garden!) and then I can make proper plans

ooooh, exciting! good luck...I really hope you find somewhere!

lol tried a few places, but cos I'm 60 they keep offering me in sheltered accommodation - with no garden! or with a communal graden that'd be no use to me unless I can grab a corner of it
30 Jul, 2012
Good grief!! You're telling me I'm only 10 years away from being offered sheltered housing?? lol....blimey!
30 Jul, 2012
that was my thought: over 60 can apply for it, but assuming that all 60+s need it, or even can afford it - I'm in a 50+ block here and I'm not old enough to settle down and play bingo all afternoon ....
31 Jul, 2012
I should blooming well think not! You need a bit of garden Fran to keep your soul fed!! :D I'm praying now, that you get it soon!
31 Jul, 2012
bless you! it's not going to be easy: this place isn't tumbledown, badly maintained etc (if you don't count the asbestos they onlh told me about last week after I've been here 2 years!) and I'm not overcrowded - compared iwth a some, I'm very well off - lol but comapred with me ...
sorry to have diverted the convo, didn't mean to! x
