Is yours in full sun? Mine only gets it quite late in the day and doesn't flower as freely as some. Come to think of it neither does an offspring that does get a lot more sun.

I've had this for 2 years now and am quite disappointed with it. It has only ever produced 1 stem of flowers then looks rather boring for the rest of the time. Mines is in part shade.

Mine in full sun and no plants crowding it out , planted this year and masses of flowers from a member on here.

So many much better new varieties, but one of those plants that my mum grew and Autntie/Uncles fond memories makes up for the lack of flowers I supose

I've seen pictures of them in other gardens flowering quite well but mine are more restrained,sadly. But you do forgive them quite a lot if they have memories for you. I have one of the old unspectacular heucheras, before the lovely new varieties were available. It hassmall dull leaves and red flowers for a few weeks and after that is totally dull but its part of my childhood...

I've since been told by Worthy that this isn't Johnson's Blue after all (though it was labelled that when I bought it). My actual Johnson's blue has very similar flowers but grows tall and floppy and needs quite a lot of space - there's a pic in my photos. There are lots of others that look very similar but flower more freely than the one in this picture. You've got to be a bit careful as some flower once and that's it while others will go on much longer, or have a second flush if you cut them back after flowering.

You're going to have room for lots of different ones when you get organised!
