We said that, Lori, about some of our little rivers and streams, and a few weeks later they were over the top. It looks lush and green around your little rivulet. Just had a heavy thunderstorm near to us, but didn't get the worst of it. Just got back from a trip to an aerodrome club NAAFI canteen we go to. Not many planes flying as there is a wide 'no fly zone' for small planes due to the Olympics. The main stadium is about 15 miles away. Then we went to an antique centre for my fix! Nice country drive.

Don't seem to be having any moderation in our seasons the last few years Lori :/

none to spare for this nick of the wood either. after predicted, red alert thunderstorms came and mostly passed us by, my pond is the dryest it has been in its short life. however shouldnt complain as normally we have the scorched earth look by beginning of july already.

Yes I've been promising many of my GoY friends some sunshine in exchange for some of your moisture...the powers that be aren't going for it, Drc726. We've had very nasty weather..."super cells" they call it...the winds so strong that it uproots huge maples and flattens barns! Corn crops drying up in the fields...no ears to be seen. The federal minister for Ag. came to see the devastation and report back to parliament. I am so sorry for our farmers...hope they all have crop insurance. Too true, Lil.
Like your outing, Dorjac. I would happily go "antiquing"...such fun..and you never know what you might find. Only thing I like better is a trip to the Garden Centre!
Sorry the rain missed you Resi...we have forest fire alerts..and all burning is forbidden. There are patches of brown on the hills...trees are dying.
The frogs have found the little tank and they've taken refuge. The raccoons have yet to find it, thank goodness. But they leave their footprints on my newly painted deck stairs...lol. they look like tiny human hand prints!

That weather sounds awful Lori, especial
Ly when it reduces cereal crops and wrecks woodlands and tree based crops too. So many GOY people are saying their weather is odd. It keeps drizzling here today. So the garden is being gently watered. I found an old postal page turner at the antique centre. I found a mention of the same item in a museum collection and some detail that suggested 1885 to 95 postal charges printed on the ruler. We could have stopped off at a farm shop too that sells plants as well but it was pouring with rain....surprise.. Surprise.

I'm afraid I can't resist the temptation to tease, Dorjac...You mean you let a little bit of rain keep you from a romp thro a GC? My goodness, I thought you Brits were waterproof! lol... Seriously though, I hope you get a break soon..as we have had some rain..it was stormy yesterday but the winds were not as bad as the one last week...and today...speaking of "drizzle" we are finally enjoying a gentle fall of rain/mist. We need it to last for at least a week! Our locale is finally greening again...but not so in the western part of "the valley". It's only 60 kms. to Renfrew and they are baked, roasted, dried and hung up. When we were there yesterday we heard that the local orchard will have no produce this year. In March, we had the warm spell and the budding started, and some of the trees were in blossom...then April and early May had frosty nights. (Blow #1) then the drought of June/July and that was it. (blow #2)...sad and our food prices are going to be worrisome.
Goodness...that's a century or so. Will you donate your copy to the museum collection?

Eventually Lori, I have one more of these old postal relics that I found many years ago at a big fair. This is the first one I've seen since then. One is a postal perpetual calender and ruler, with all the charges for usually a ten year period. It mentions the colonial empire countries and charges for various types of post to them. The other is the flat, elegant page turner I found at the weekend. I think the page turners were discarded when charges were altered. I like collecting odd things like this. Garden Centres when its NOT pouring with rain. Another thing for a tease. We turned back today on our way to visit a garden.....guess what....it rained....we will send you some, after a short rain dance.

I am impressed. Your dance must have worked.
We are happily sopping up all the moisture; sorry it spoiled your outing! ;-)
