It's a good choice! Don't feel frustrasted if you don't get flowers the first season. They take 2 years to settle down. These lillies have been here for about 11 years and the flowers appeared only in the third year. Now there are so many flowers that some "drown" under the leaves (even though I cut the largest leaves every week). Three years ago, I bought white, dark pink and yellow lillies for another stone tank and, so far, only the pink lillies have blossomed and the leaves are still very small. When the weather gets cold the leaves die, but they come back more vigorous every Spring!

what about frozen days?

The plants don't die, they simply ""sleep" down under the water, even when it frozens. The leaves disappear, but you'll see some kind of bulbs in the container that will germinate as soon as the weather gets warmer in Spring. The water lillies are very easy to grow and don't require much attention! :)
