Mine too Meanie....I'll try cuttings i think...Its planted in a fairly damp spot and i dont think they like that?...

Lol,do you have seeds Meanie !!!! I"m excited now, I have a pressy for you too, some salvia bulleyana seeds and the one with the hard to spell name forsskaolii thingy :-)

I've never got it to produce seed, but I have a couple of spare plants that I produced from a root section (the section gave me seven plants in total).

I bought this today, only £2.50 :-) I adore Salvias. Has yours survived since 2012? I usually take cuttings of my S. microphylla just in case of winter loss. I fancied S. Amistad too but I think that one is tender?

Yes it has along with many offspring.

You worry about S.microphylla? It's bombproof!

Amistad can be grown in the beds and lifted mid to late October, dropped in a pot and stuck in the shed until spring.

That's good to know. Knowing S microphylla is tough is encouraging, we live in a frost pocket and I always worry. My (unknown) one with bright cerise flowers was slow recovering and the cuttings I took last year are further ahead but it did survive.

Amistad is gorgeous. I dont know if I can be bothered to lift though - can you take cuttings off that do you know?

DA - lifting it is easier than taking cuttings and overwintering them.

Motinot - yours did well to last in a damp spot. Few Salvia like that. S.stolonifera is one that does and it also prefers a fair bit of shade as well.
