Just to show you the difference now the 'Montbretia' are in flower. I took out masses of them about 18 months ago - you wouldn't know, now.

Yes, I shall have to get some more out next spring. I hope I can cope with it by then!

They look wonderful, Spritz. It isn't fair, though! I have planted quite a few Montbretia bulbs this year, and there is masses of foliage on them, but not a single flower. What am I doing wrong?

I would just be patient. If they've got leaves, they're alive and kicking! The new corms I planted didn't even produce leaves. :-((

Sorry, corms, not bulbs! I really should have known that :o(

We can grow Montbretia the common one yet we have trouble with the named varieties of Crocosmia, have just removed 4 clumps!! lovely pic B.......

Strange, isn't it. I'll be going to the Bath & West Show (I hope) and they may well have pots of proper CROCOSMIA for sale there...certainly no "Montbretia"! lol.

Thanks, Ba. :-)) I bought two pots of 'Emily' yesterday, and they're going in the back garden. I do hope they 'take' there.
