reduced heather

the four heathers I bought earlier this year didn't like the snow: I managed to salvage this much of one of them, the other two are much smaller, hope they soon grow back

I'm not sure if these are proper heather, which would need special compost, or the other type of heather that can do in ordinary compost - they're in ordinary.
I'm careful about watering, think it's better to underwater than over, where the weather doesn't interfere - takes longer to di eof thirst than to drown! so more time to rememdy the situation

thanks Drc, this is all new growth - the original plants were about the size of two fists side by side; I spotted some green amongst the grey, and managed to peel off the dead stuff and leave this much - hope! - intact.

that looks pretty, i lost several heathers over time, but i think mine died because they got too dry???
