It was you that got me into these little scrambling ones Karen :-) I bought a couple after seeing some of yours, I love them.
I wouldn't have remembered if I hadn't added it to my garden section on here Hywel :-), excited now, mine has quite a few flowers this year, but sounds like it'll just get better then :-)

Mmmm that is a good idea, love the delicate colour and shape, I hasve a choysia this I think would look very pretty with this Clem scrambling through ;0)

Thanks for saying that Kathy, it's lovely! I am really loving Heather Herschell at the moment, and Mary Rose, both of which are doing well in shrubs.

Sounds lovely. What a good idea to grow them through shrubs. Do you cut the right down in Spring? So what category do these little scramblers fall into, I want some :)

That is so pretty, we grow several through our shrubs, but not used these before.

Hope you don't mind me interrupting Kathy.....if you use any of the group 3 clems, you can cut them right down in the late winter, or in the autumn as I do, and they will come back from the base, so no need to look at the thatch all winter. Most of the small flowered clems are in group 3 except for the montanas and the evergreens.

...but there are also some lovely larger flowering ones that are in group 3, including the new breed from Evison that do in pots as well and flower all summer, such as Ooh La La.

Thats good to know Karen, I usually leave my group 3's till end of Feb so I'll cut them back in autumn then, that'd be better as ones growing through a viburnum which looks good all winter so the clematis does look a bit scruffy by then and spoils it, so thankyou for that :-)), I'll have a look at all the ones you've mentioned, off to Malvern in a couple of weeks you never know they could have some there :-)

I love the group 3s, and this one looks a little gem! Such a great idea from you girls, to grow it through shrubs that have already flowered, my sunny (?) border is looking very green now, I could do with one of these to cheer it up. Love the group 1s too, in fact all the bell shaped ones...:o))
That reminds me, I must remember to look out for the spring flowering erythroniums, especially Pagoda, for my shady side...lol....the garden that is, I always forget till there are lovely pics on here in Spring!

The small flowered ones are lovely aren't they Janey this one almost looks like wax, or is that my weird imagination!!!,lol, yes I need more too still a lot of evergreen shrubs that need a partner, just thought today my euonymus would look pretty with a blue one, Karen this is your fault,lol.
I'm on the look out for more epimediums have 4 now and they seem to be doing really well in the wood so any suggestions of good ones appreciated :-)

Which euonymus do you have Kathy, Ive emerald gaiety just beginning to shoot upwards after 3 years! Yes it could do with extra colour too. Quite away above this is Korean Beauty clem........dripping with buds, not quite the right colour though, creamy lemon with maroon centre, I am really pleased with it this year.....:o)) Epimediums, yes they are stunning too....is your wood dry shade, or damp acidic?

Aaaah yes Korean Beauty I have that all over, grown from seed kindly sent to me by Dawn :-),its only in its second year but lots of buds, a lovely one.
The woods quite dry shade Janey some things just whilt as soon as we have a bit of dry weather but the epimediums don't seem to mind :-)

I shall look out for them Kathy, the area I have is dry shade, quite difficult for spring flowering plants and bulbs, but the epimediums and erythroniums should do okay, it would be lovely to see some early spring colour.....
