Although full of "stuff" for replanting at the moment, this space will eventually be a long piece of topiary - hopefully easy to maintain.

That would be a lovely solution - but also quite a bit of maintenance. As I'm getting on a bit I have opted for the easier option of topiary (and a little gentle clipping & titivating)!. I plan to have a Loch Ness Monster/Dragon type creation, with its head facing the fountain (for a drink?) and the tail going under the bridge. It is 4.3 metres to the bridge and 1.5 metres from the beginning of the bridge to the end of the strip.
I'm not sure about the colour of the bridge yet, but had to give it a coat of something - and found a tin in the garage!

Sounds fun. Have you done topiary before? Hope it works out - good luck!

Only a little in my previous garden - spirals with yew - but I have two books to read through on rainy days, lots of chicken wire and a jar of optimism. It might be a long wait before a photo though! lol

Because of the little bridge, I thought it was going to be a rill! I like the structure at this end . . .
