Catalpa Leaves...... (Catalpa bignonioides (Indian bean tree))

So something likes the rain then........will be so pleased when this tree starts growing up!!

Mine loves the rain as well ,we pruned it back as we thought far to hard in the spring it must have liked that as well would you believe it has grown to twice it's size again this summer the leaves are enormous ...

I love this tree. I've seen some good specimens up here, so it must be pretty tough. I saw a fabulous one in Harlow Carr a couple of years ago.

Amy they respond to hard pruning, (pollarding) by growing twice the size lol
Karen so do, I just fed up with waiting for it to get taller.

Stunning colour leaves Dd, and they have such beautiful flowers, is this the tree you've chosen to replace your Robinia? Just the same gorgeous colouring.....

Janey, it is growing in another part of the garden, we have not yet made a decision regarding the Robinia.........all will be revealed soon!!
