We had a few pallets that were either too heavy or broken to used for other things as well as lots of branches and trimming etc : )

lol when I used to go camping with the Cubs and Scouts, there was only pallet wood on the site's woodpiles; I printed off a chart of the burning qualities of wood, but it didn't include "pallets", sigh.

The wonders of education eh, Vs real life. When I lived by the coast I used to go beach combing in the bays, loads of wood, always burn with a blue/green salt flame : )

do you save a bit of the ash from fires? nice tradition, save some ash from a fire to put on the next one, save some of that, so that, really, every fire is linked to the first one.

Interesting Fran, it rained the next day but the ash is still there, just waiting for it to dry a bit then have another small fire on top and take the ash over to the veg patch : )

I've had a couple of mini-bonfired in my mini-barbie, I put the ash into the composter - I wasn't sure how much to put into individual pots, then I read that the best way to distribute it even ly was to put it in the compost so that it'd get mixed well
