One of my favourite flowers. I didn't grow any this year and I really missed them. Love the white!

Than you. Yes, they have done very well this year only it's a shame they have started to put on a really good display just as we are coming to the end of the season! :-(( It's not as though I sowed them late either.

A few days ago I looked to see if there was a small plant or two that I could lift & take home to put on the balcony but they are all too big & transplanting them now would kill them as surely as a frost.

The blog is under construction!

These looked lovely Ba, we always have Cosmos, next year I'm going to try the White ones too, with the ferny leaves, they're stunning. Ive been pulling the last of mine up, they had grown so tall this year making a very attractive backdrop for other annuals, but had to stake them all. It looks a bit bare now....:((

Thank's Janey. :-)) I was very pleased with them only when they came into full flower they only had a sort time till the frosts started. ;-((

I didn't get any seeds from this variety as when we got back from Spain they were so wet they were mouldy. I had to wait a couple of weeks more before I could pull them up & put them in the compost bin. Perhaps some seeds will fall into the ground & survive the winter. If they do I may be able to salvage some seedlings for next year. If not I see if I can buy a packet as these stole my heart this year! :-))

Yes mine have totally had it now Balc, they did reach 6ft, but like yours generally too late to flower well, let's hope you can salvage some seeds somehow.

Just wanted to mention...is it Cuenca where your family live? I've just been reading a book which included part of it's 16th century history.....

Hi Janey, yes, Cuenca is where our family lives! :) It's a very old city & they have found remains of human habitation dating way, way back. In more modern times it was once a rich city & was famed especially for its tanning industry & dying of clothes. You may be reading about its Conquest by Alfonso VIII after it had been an Arab city for several 100 years.

The modern city now has High Speed rail links & a dual carriage motorway that can get you to Madrid in under 90 minutes hours now - it used to take 3 hours! By High Speed train it's only 50 minutes from Madrid.

Look out for my next blog on Cuenca over the coming week!
