Thanks, all. Yes, I chose this plant (two/three years ago?) because of its leaves. Well spotted, Karen - they're coming along very nicely indeed. :-)

I also like them with reticulated iris, the blue/purple and pink look good together too.
Mine are covered in snow just as the buds were developing nicely.

I think you know that I like having a bed with 'only' Iris reticulata in it, at the base of the silver birches. They're all coming up again - but as you say, they've vanished for the moment. The depth of soil before I hit roots is too shallow under the ash tree, or I might try adding a few there.
