Clematis napaulensis

Clematis napaulensis (Clematis napaulensis)

This winter-flowering Clematis has been in my garden for at least five years, and this is the first time it's flowered! To say I'm thrilled is an understatement.

Thank you - I knew 'you' would understand! I actually went to look at it because I was going to post a question about its failure to flower - and there were the flowers! :-D)

I knew Andrew had one...how long have you had it, Andrew?

I still have a smile on my face - I hope it produces more flowers. :-D)

Spritz - mine was planted late in 2001

Did it take several years before it flowered, Andrew?

16 Jan, 2013

I think it was about three years before it flowered for the first time

16 Jan, 2013

Strange, that. I'm sure you were delighted when it did!

Hi Barbara, So pleased for you, it's such a beautiful climber, I've had mine a long while now. It puts on a wonderful display of seed heads as well.

So pleased for you, Spritz! Looks like a lovely plant to have! Is it scented?

17 Jan, 2013

No, I don't think so, Balcony. We'll have to ask Pam, won't we! :-)

How lovely, I won't suggest the flooding had anything to do with it. Whatever the cause, if I was superstitious, I would say it seems like a good omen:-)

17 Jan, 2013

It wasn't flooded...however, it's been a real morale-booster. :-)))

17 Jan, 2013

No scent I'm afraid :o((

18 Jan, 2013

I thought not. :-(
