It's lovely to see a Fox in the garden ... we had one recently at 3am ... the cat was going from room to room trying to see what was making the noise and why the outside light was on!

Hi Homebird, we have foxes too. That pic of mine showing our front is a nature reserve. Plenty of foxes there we feed them every night. We have only been in this place since August apparantly there are badgers and muncjac deer there and plenty of other wildlife. Not that I've seen any muncjac yet but we can hear them sometimes.

i think there might have been a muntjac round here last night, seen one before but years ago, but just looking at the footprints in the snow I think thats what may have been visiting but I missed it this time!

We have had a fox,or foxes doing the rounds for a few years now,but I've never seen them..only the insomniac neighbours,as it always seems to be in the early hours..and sadly,my OH saw one of them last week, which hadn't made it across the main road..so upsetting..They must be so hungry just now,H.bird..good of you to feed it :o)

Bless him i bet like all wild life when the weather is bad they struggle.

We get all sorts of wildlife in the garden, hedgehogs, badgers, foxes etc, but I would never put food out for foxes, they're vermin [round here anyway] and do far too much damage to your plants digging for roots, and if you have poultry, they love killing them, they don't even eat all they kill, they just seem to kill for the fun of it, I don't mind seeing the odd weasel or stoat, but don't put food out for them either, [which is the one that turns white in winter?], Derek.

Oh, poor fox, I have just finished reading book on foxes. They are so good mothers and intelligent and shy creatures. Let us know if she comes back.

Ahrr such a shame for them you caught it lovely Homebird I can see it ok, with them keep taking up the country side with buildings where else can they go.

Lovely to see the foxes. We have a visitor now and again. Food is o.k. but don't put chocolate out. Bad for dogs so must be bad for foxes too. I sometimes place an egg on the path for ours and its taken by the next day.

What a shame Homebird perhaps another night snowing here again today.

Snowing here too in Derbyshire, Sixpence.
Homebird, our fox comes at random, just now and again.

I'm not bragging,H.bird ..far from it..8" snow overnight, and just started again ! Sod's law we cleared all the paths, car and road yesterday..:o(
21 Jan, 2013
It snowed nonstop all day yesterday here, also have about 8". Homebird, I wish I had seen this pic before making my rambling comment on your faux rhubarb pic, it would have made more sense on this pic ....maybe:-)
21 Jan, 2013
So glad you are feeding the fox it must be so difficult for them in this snowy weather to find food.
21 Jan, 2013
I have been doing the same ,H.bird..ok,I did run the vac round this morning..but not much else :o) To ease the guilt of him outdoors doing the shovelling,I cooked him a nice evening meal..Braised steak, new potato's,carrot and swede mash, green beans and Y.puds .so I don't think he would dare to say"'what have you been doing today " Lol.

That sounds DELICIOUS......The home has had a Spring clean and I've been watercolouring. Walked down to the shops and back yesterday and bought a few bits of food. Trod carefully and enjoyed the beauty of the fields in white around.
22 Jan, 2013
It was pretty good ..:o) it may well be Beans on toast..or egg and chips,today..we don't mind anyway....although I need to take stock in the freezer..and do some replenishing ..OH gone out to grit our side road again ! a snow flurry last night, has left it very icy..so we are hopefully going out around lunchtime..might treat ourselves to lunch, before shopping...because we deserve it ! Lol.
22 Jan, 2013
Sounds good to me Bloomer. We have a treat now and again. We went for a main shop today. At least it wasn't manic in the store like it was last Thursday, when we only needed some milk, veg and fruit and beverages.
22 Jan, 2013
All sorted,Lindak..fridge a lot fuller..nice lunch out ..and blue sky and sunshine this afternoon, after a cold and foggy morning..so nice to see it again :o) Very cold again tonight, and we may not have seen the last of the snow till weekend..We are just hoping it misses us..I think we have had more than our fair share now..
22 Jan, 2013
Glad you had a good time, May get some more snow yet, but supposed to be rain on Sunday but the roads may be treacherous for a while. We still have a blanket of white.
23 Jan, 2013
Thanks,we have had a slight thaw overnight..and paths no longer frozen...so at least that's something..looks so bad further south, according to last nights news..and now they are saying there is a danger of flooding,if we get the rain on top of the snow melt...what a start to the new year .:o(
23 Jan, 2013
No thaw here and more snow falling, just thought I'd moan:-)
23 Jan, 2013
It's ok to moan,Ba..most have us have done the same.the odd.flurry at the moment..but not forecast for anything serious..still thawing slowly..and our hardworking bin men, have just been..on the correct day too..especially as they had to be all cancelled on Monday ..never expected that, bless em :o)
23 Jan, 2013
Yes the binmen work in all weathers bless them. It's melting gradually now and although we've had flurries all day it's not added to the depth.
23 Jan, 2013
Ours didn't make it yesterday:-)
23 Jan, 2013
oh dear,Ba ..it snowed on the wrong day ! Don't you just hate it,when that happens ? :o))
23 Jan, 2013
If I didn't know what a lovely, kind GOYer you are, I would almost think I could detect a note of flippancy in your voice:-)))
24 Jan, 2013
Moi ? perish the thought :o) not when you are one of my bestest friends on here :o)) x
24 Jan, 2013
