Same here,Oliveoil,been clearing a path for them too..they are finding it very hard just now. hardly any are coming to the feeders..I have just been out to knock the snow off them,and shake them up a bit..not the birds...the feeders ! Lol...

lol Bloomer, they have just being feeding furiously, think they are trying to get some grub in before the nightfall comes. Poor birds we saw a Redwing yesterday it was really struggling, do not think it will survive, it was very lethargic.

they do suffer in this weather, been out feeding them regularly today, and put it on the ground so they do not have to fight to feed. Lots of Longtailed tits feeding today and 4 different Woodpeckers- 2 cock birds and 2 females.

oh my! It's like 2010 all over again! I can't decide whether or not I would like a bit of snow, but a nice carpet of white would be far preferable to this howling wind and darkness with the sleet battering off the windows. I feel like I should be on the outer Hebrides!

You seem to be having your own kind of bad weather,Karen..it sounds horrendous..I loathe winds like that..at least it is very calm here,,it isn't even moving off the slender branches..so still looks very pretty..I hope it eases for you soon.just a shame it couldn't have been this week,you were away ..:o(.

Mum, they are saying mild and wet next week.

I wish it was like that today,Karen,as a flurry overnight,has frozen,and we have treacherous ice.. we were hoping to get out today,but there are serious doubts as to getting to the main road,which is only a stone's throw away,especially as we are at the bottom of a short but steep incline.....so frustrating..even with the safest footwear on,it's too risky..Our daughter asked if we could have Thomas,so she can get to work,as we presume Nursery will still be closed.so we have a dilemma..it isn't safe for her to drive down,plus I don't think she would get back up again...she will probably have to stay home again,today...It is like 2010 all over again :o(

Horrible but nowhere near as bad as 2010 here, snow not as deep and in 2010 we had a few nights which were down to -19 degrees it hopefully is not going to last as long as that Bloomer.

Karen glad it is going to be milder soon, the lane not very good but am going to try to get out today to the shops, feel so shut in when it is like this. The road is clear and vehicles are getting backwards and forwards so we should be able to get to Morrisons and back safely. Might have to dig the car out first though. lol.

Snow snow and snow, sick of seeing it now, it has stopped though and the sun is out so hopefully it will melt quickly.
