Great photo.
Dawn(6d) you certainly got me confused .What does this moon indicate then? no birds I. The garden for Birdwatch perhaps????

Lol Paul how have I confused you then, about the moon, its word per word from a old book of omens, the the little Scarlet Pimpernel was used by farmers the poor mans hour glass they called it, it would close its petals if rain was due , before thunder and rain the leaves of clover will be found drawn closely together.
I ve seen this morning 4 great tits on the cocoa nut fat ball one magpie so far shall look out in a moment for their evening feed. You can put into bird watch another days previous countings or shortly after you know Paul No birds normally means an eclipse hehe

Great shot Holly they ll let me out of the asylum when the full moon has past lol. Did you know you can tell the weather by the moon, they use to years ago.
If in fine weather, the moon is encircled by a single misty ring, it is an infallible indication of rain to come. A large circle round the moon threatens rain very soon, while several concentric circles presage a lengthy spell of wet and stormy weather. As an old saying has it, The moon with a circle brings water in her beak. When the moon at the full rises into a clear , cloudless sky on the horizon and the moon itself is bright yellow colour, a short spell of fine weather is indicated. In winter months a clear moon brings frost soon.
If the full moon rises amid clouds and the orb itself is pale wet weather may be expected. Likewise, to see the old moonin the arms of a new one, is a sign of bad weather to come.
If the full moon rises red, it is a sign of wind. If the moon either rises or sets during high wind and rain, the force of the storm is likely to abate.
A mackerel sky twelve hours dry
They could even predict the weather with stars and
clouds thunder lightening, mist and dew and of course the sky
