Beautiful...

I was just saying to OH that I can't believe that I've forgotten what bulbs I planted where in the autumn! The good thing is it always gives me a lovely surprise when stuff comes up! It's lovely to see the first Iris. These are definitely February plants here, but I am really pleased to see yours....plus, I don't have any this year! ;)

These are beautiful. We are weeks behind you in spite of the weather.

So nice to see these. I always feel a sense of relief when I see the spring bulbs flowering :o)

How lovely to see this Iris, have no idea where any of ours are, because we constantly change the garden they could be anywhere.......

I 'think' I planted some in the pots by the front door, so I could see them as I go in and out...but the others? No idea. :-(

It is such a treat when these lovely bulbs appear after a terrible winter. My bulbs are still quite small but the Helebores are further on.

A few days ahead of mine too!

It was so wet (again!) yesterday that I forgot to go and look to see if any more are in flower. Both - Hellebores and Irises.

Oh! that's beautiful .....
I'm looking forward to planting some the autumn/winter.

Yes, do - more of mine are opening every day. Such a pleasure. :-))
Tip no 1 - plant them deeply. Tip no. 2 - GCs sell them in little pots at this time of year so if you want a few now, you could! :-D)

Lovely Iris Spritz, can't wait for mine to flower. Hope they don't make me wait too long!

Thanks - keep watching - they seem to open overnight!

I notice Pauline are pushing up through in a big bowl I have had outside all winter. Have not noticed any others yet.
2 Feb, 2013
I'm sure I've got Pauline somewhere...I must look at my 'garden' list.

This is a beautiful Iris, Spritz! I don't have any Irises on my balcony though Gerry has some Bearded Irises on the allotment.

Can't you even squeeze a few in one of your containers?
4 Feb, 2013
I could, but I empty them all twice a year as I use bedding plants in them. I don't think they would take too kindly to being lifted in May, kept somewhere dry during the summer & then being planted out again in October.
Daffs don't seem to mind it nor do Crocuses

No - they don't -I get a few new ones for my containers each year, but they're inexpensive and well worth it. :-)

the only one I have in flower at the moment is Shelia Ann Germany. I can see leaves of Beatrix Stanley.
these are so joyful arent they.
11 Feb, 2013
I don't know Sheila - but Beatrix is opening - well, I think it's her! :-))
11 Feb, 2013
I have posted a photo of it :o)
11 Feb, 2013
Thanks - I'll take a look. :-)
