Hippeastrum cybister 'Chico' (Hippeastrum cybister)

The flowers look good when they're opening too!
It was frozen solid in the cold snap before christmas. That is when I bought it into the front room and it put out this flower stem almost immediately!

I wonder it survived the frost. I didn't realise they were so hardy.

Ne neither!
I'm not sure that it would have taken a full winter outdoors though.

It was Surreylad who helped me with growing this properly.

I lost mine last year, because I didn't bring them indoors in time. They died :o(
Maybe this one is hardier than the commoner type.

I think that you're right Hywel.

I have a few of the common ones that I bought very cheap planted VERY deep in the garden - we'll see if they survive!

Terrific close up!

Hywel - I've just noticed that my comment above was credited to Iciar. It really was made by me!

Thanks Delonix!

That happens to Steragram too. The people in charge don't seem bothered about it.

It's just an occasional thing................

That isn't the point.

New avatar Hywel?

Now let's see if my theory is correct.............

No, it wasn't!
I thought that maybe it happened when I had a tab opened for a long time but I was incorrect.
My stepson is a software developer so I know how difficult it can be to sort out these glitches!

They don't care. They don't reply to messages, and they ignore any suggestions one makes - don't bother to reply at all. That is rude. It's courtious to acknowledge messages, even if they don't do anything about it.
They are rude and ignorant, and the sooner they change their manners, the better for them and us.
Maybe they are too busy ... but they should still acknowledge messages.
Don't worry, I have already told them all this, but they have ignored me ...

Makes for a more interesting flower when the tips are pinched together like that! :-))

Some buds look really interesting as they open!
