That is very pretty. Good combination of strong pink flowers with the mottled leaves.

My Pulmonarias aren't as prolific as usual. They're hardy, so where are they? I'm waiting for my favourite one to appear - 'Blue Ensign'.

I cant find mine boohoo. the cold and wet has meant that many didnt keep leaves on all year.many of mine are starting from a root stock that is almost gone.

That's exactly what most of mine are like. Definitely boohoo!

I was given this one last year from a friend Barbara, but couldn't remember the colour. It's lovely. Can't wait for mine to flower now.

It was just toooooo cold and windy to go on a Pulmonaria hunt yesterday, but I hope it's still there...

I lost mine but know I have been reminded of it I will look for another one.

Cotswold Garden Flowers has David Ward, they are a very good company which also delivers. Having looked at their catalogue (fatal mistake) there are more pulmonarias I want. Bob Browns favourite is Diana Clare he says ..."seven months of long silvered apple-green foliage in graceful rosettes preceded by large purple flowers Feb-May" sounds good to me:-) They also have a seedling of Opal (one of my faves ) called Nimes which has large open violet-blue flowers Feb-May another I want:-)

Yes:-) sometimes I half hope that I lose some plants so I can justify buying new ones lol. I do have room in my north border though:-)

Typical! I was thinking of planting some in the new area where the Escallonia came out, but it's too early for GCs to have them in stock.

There are a few places that have them, I'll google and let you know who has the best selection:-)

Haha, I've just bought David Ward along with Diana Clare and, one I've wanted for ages, Blakes Silver, Cotton Cool, and Leopard. That's all for pulmonarias. Also bought cardamine quinquefolia and polygonatum (lost mine). I have bought them from Bluebell Cottage Gardens Nursery and including delivery only £36. Some are only 9cm pots and some 1ltr pots. I've used this nursery before and was very happy with them. That should sort out makeover of far end of north border. I think I can split brunnera Looking Glass and Jack Frost this time too. Sorry Barbara, they don't sell the two in above comment:-)

Hmmmph!! Mind you, I think Brunneras might 'go' in my border, so thanks for mentioning them. :-)

B.Looking glass has a beautiful, totally silver leaf, but is not as vigorous as Jack Frost, there are new ones too, but I've forgotten their names:-)

I think I might have both of those, Ba. I hope the GCs start getting plants in SOON. At the moment, their shelves are very bare. :-(

I love Brunnera, will take a look at that one, we bought lots of new Pulmonarias last year, some lovely ones with silver leaves, waiting to see if they all come up before we buy any more.....

Yes I have BA.....also Silverado,Cotton Cool, and Majestee, all beautiful silver leaves........the one Barbara likes my pink is called rubra and also redstart very early has been out a month now!!

Which silver leaf do you think has the best flower to compliment it?:-)

P. David Ward, p.Victorian Brooch and erythronium Pagoda arrived today. I used to have pagodas in my old garden, can't think why I had none here:-)

Lol Barbara, you'd be amazed at what I had in my old garden:-)) I've got quite a lot of plants now waiting in the garage to be potted up/on including some scabious and geraniums. Ordered some candelabra prims yesterday too, what shall I order today?:-)

My big silver leafed one (will have to check which variety) is flowering, I noticed it yesterday.....

I tracked down some Pulmonarias last week, and bought three 'Raspberry Splash'. They're (obviously) pink ones, but not as lovely as the one Dd has.

The grass is always greener.... :-)

Barbara did we establish whether you still had David Ward? is your Blue Ensign out yet?....... I had two of these and I can just about make out two inches of growth, that could possibly be BE

My blue ensign is flowering, but small, no sign of my Brunneras though:-(

David Ward seems to have vanished, Dd, sadly. Boo hoo!

Blue Ensign - all the plants are up and doing well. :-)) I put five in when I revamped the ex-pear tree area and they look lovely with Tete a Tete and yellow primroses.

You must pop a pic on that combination sounds lovely, sorry you have lost David Ward....
