In our front yard I think that the gardener is watering it too much.

You're welcome. The big differences between Dracaena and Yucca are: The old leaf bases on Yucca will generally take several year to fall off....and they're difficult to remove. Dracaena leaves fall off cleanly, leaving no leaf base. Also, the leaves on Dracaena draco tend to be much more fleshy than Yucca leaves. Another major difference is Dracaena draco is much, much more tender to cold than Yucca..

I'm almost positive that's a young Dracaena draco. It's a widely grown tree here in San Diego. Large ones are very old.
