Before I get creative and make foxes and long tailed tits which will be a big challenge, spent a day or two making the 'functional mosaics'!

they are fabulous lulu ~ bet they sell like hot cakes ~ or hot spoons?
20 Feb, 2013
Think I might mosaic some teaspoons for the next one!!
20 Feb, 2013
tablespoon might be easier! or do you mean put the teaspoon into the mosaic?
20 Feb, 2013
Put the teaspoon into the mosaic!
20 Feb, 2013
that makes sense! or a little mustard spoon?
20 Feb, 2013
depends on what I can find in the charity shops!
20 Feb, 2013
i will try to remember to look for you too

Oh thanks Sticki, that would be great!
20 Feb, 2013
they are great Lulu...how did u stick the jars on?
20 Feb, 2013
Glue in the middle of the back, let to dry thoroughly. Then the grout holds them on firm! I've got 2 in the bathroom for toothpaste, hairbrush etc. and a wooden spoon and teaspoon holder in the kitchen and they've stayed stuck for 5 years or more...thank goodness!!
I've now run out of large and the very small jars!!! I also have a vat of Marmite on the go!

How about half wine bottles instead of marmite, you could have a never ending supply aaaaaaaaaaaand they would look great with Daffodils.Of course if you must have a flat back Whisky bottles but don't try emptying them or bottles will be all crooked.

how about one of those lovely bristol blue coloured bottles?
20 Feb, 2013
The trouble with wine bottles is..............1. they empty far too quickly!! 2. the neck isn't wide enough to hold spoons....unless it's one spoon!!
20 Feb, 2013
but you could put a flower in one?
20 Feb, 2013
true!!
Trouble is...we never buy wine in half bottles!!!!
20 Feb, 2013
a big flower in a whole bottle?
how about some of those miniatures? i have one ~ i will save it for you.....dont let me forget!
20 Feb, 2013
Sticki I think Lulu has already drunk a bottle ,did I not say Daffodils, and the whole idea of half bottles was to keep her intake down.lol
20 Feb, 2013
she has disappeared now brian so you could be right!!
better not mention a jeraboam then!
20 Feb, 2013
LoL! A friend is keeping a jeraboam for me! Would love some miniatures...good idea!
You did say daffs Brian...sorry..multitasking!
20 Feb, 2013
;-) oh dear thats a shame i will have to drink the bottle now!
its a cider liqueur bottle ~ 5½" tall and clear glass
20 Feb, 2013

They are something special and unique Lulu such beautiful colours to . I use to collect old bottles from a field where they were continually being turned up by the plough I used them for my glass painting ..
21 Feb, 2013
Have you finished the bottle yet Sticki!!
I love bottles that turn up from the ground..the glass quite often has a beautiful sheen to it.
What's your glass painting Amy? Painting onto glass...?
24 Feb, 2013
Just made another blue Marmite mosaic with a teaspoon mosaiced in too...it's worked well!
24 Feb, 2013
yes lulu bottle finished and i also have a marmite jar for you!
24 Feb, 2013
OOh ta Sticks! Just off to mosaic a mustard tin!!
25 Feb, 2013
do you have a photo of your new mosaic with the spoon in?
25 Feb, 2013
I haven't done any for a long while Lulu , I use leadwork on glass bottles or mirrors and then fill in with coloured liquid paint giving it a stained glass effect ... I have a photo on here somewhere I'll try to find it ......
25 Feb, 2013
