Looks really nice - I really enjoy planting up troughs which makes me think that it is ages since I did just that! Time for a rethink and time for some plants to move out!

Linda - I'm quite pleased with how this has turned out. Considering the polystyrene box was free, the paint I already had - it only cost me the price of the plants.

I have made two of these troughs thanks to a fismanger and ofcourse Angie who give the idea. :)

A great recycling tip Scottish. In the past, we have used broken bits of polystyrene for the drainage at the bottom of pots.

I hope you have some more boxes ready to fill Scottish. Bjs has sent lots of plants for you. I like the way you have put the names on the stones. Did you varnish over them.

I've started to do that too Linda - makes some pots so much lighter.
Scotsgran - I've a very large terracotta container I'm going to use for that purpose - it's temporarily holding an acer that I rescued from being waterlogged. The trouble is trying to be in the house at the same time as Lee so I can get him to help me move it with the aid of a skateboard, we can never co-ordinate!!
I didn't varnish them sheila - I'm happy for it to wear off - the pen was too thick and it was the only one I could find at the time. I've since raided my nephew's pencil case and found a couple of my sharpies!!
I've another recycling project for some of them but I want to wait to know it's worked before the unveiling :)

Annella - there are a few members who use this method. Bulbaholic is one I can remember of the top of my head.
I've quite a few woodlanders I'm going to plant when the weather improves and I'm want to do similar in the borders - so I don't get trowel happy and slice through the dormant plants :) I think Bulbaholic is now trialing car lacquer.
