That's seems helpful,H.bird..mine will probably be about that temp,in winter..although there is a radiator in there,it isn't warm enough to sit in,during the cold weather..and it is usually sited further back,by an inner wall and a side window,so not as light there..I only move it to its current position, around now.as it gets morning sun from the east...looks like that must be it then..I had no idea really..
I can still manage to lift mine,as the outer pot is only lightweight plastic..could you stand it in one of those circular things with wheels on,so you don't have to lift it? I have some outside pots on those,,,much easier to wheel around..
PS ..just seen the link you posted,so I will have a look..thanks :o)

That was interesting reading,H.bird..and glad to see he also saws some off the bottom of his large plants too..:o)
I shall use the mix he suggests, when I repot mine..although I think it is similar..but I will use the proportion he uses..thank you,I have bookmarked that page now :o)

That is looking lovely Sandra, it must be very happy there, I had one but it never flowered for me, think it died in the end, I musn't have been giving it the correct position and attention!

Thank you Paul..I suppose it does have a resemblance..the thick branches and trunk, might be a give away :o)
Thank you Carole..I think it looks better than when you saw it recently..the flowers stay on for such a long time too :o0

Very impressive Sandra, is this the same as the money plant? I'm not very well up on house plants although I've bought a few flowering ones to help me through this dire everlasting winter lol. As you're so good at chopping inches off the bottom, I wonder if you could become GOYs resident plastic surgeon? I'm sure there'll be a queue:-))

Lol,Ba you do make me chuckle :o) and yes,Money plant,or Jade plant ,whichever takes your fancy..! I just thought I would give it it's Sunday name :o) ..How much do you need chopping off,Ba?..I usually take about 4 inches off..you would need new clothes if I did..but I'm sure you don't need anything ..stay as sweet as you are !

I'm afraid Bloomer I was going to ask you to enhance mine with the bits you cut off the others:-)

I think I remember you commenting on this last year,H.bird..about yours not flowering..mine is around the 20 year mark, but I have taking it out of the pot a couple of times, and used a saw to chop about four inches of the bottom ,then repotted it..drastic,I know, but it doesn't seem to have suffered from it..it is in an inner pot, stood on gravel..and I wouldn't be able to lift a bigger one..this size is heavy enough ! It hasn't been watered since about November,as it's cold in the Conservatory...it just gets on with it :o)
