Its a nice bulb but hideously skips a season or two, done the tuber but not from seed so I'm giving it a try...

I have never tried from seed ,had tricolour tubers for years until 2010 that wiped them all out.Miss them not seen any offered for ages.

Yes I lost a few in 2010 winter too Brian if I get some more seed ill give you a shout.

Yes Ph, I use a very free draining alpine mix in terracotta pots. Then Repot every three years.

cheers Brian, i will hand pollinate, having a bit of a problem with mice eating my bulbs at the moment.. all but 2 frits have gone now...

Sl, woodmice are a real pain here they ate all my Fritts 2 years ago, no prisoners taken now!

It's my fault really i knew the danger from last year but i still had them lined up in pots on the bench..

Are these in flower now Ph , mine have survived the winter outside where they were growing last year but deff. no flowers yet !

Yes flowering now but in a frost free greenhouse, didn't want to risk losing them. :o)
