Katarina I was quite delighted to see him return, he stayed in the pond for about 2 hours then hopped off....
Merci Sheila.....
Thanks Paul, now he knows where the pond is, I am sure he will come back with a mate or two!!
K are you sure you have not got one, he/she could be hiding in the undergrowth, or just shy!!

I'm in the same boat as you Karen, despite having stocked with a few tadpoles that left as frogs last year!!
My wee niece is terribly upset they didn't come back!

it must have been a bit puzzled at first "I know there was a pond here last year!" until it found the new location. do you expect a colony, even a small one?

a "barrel pond", I assume, would be raised from ground level. How high is it? and do you have something for the animals to get up, sort of ramp?

I've just planted (or sunk) a red pygmy water lily and a small reed into my barrel pond. I was wondering how the frog got into your barrel Dottie. Lovely that he found your little pond again. I haven't seen any frogs around here. We used to get a lot of frogs in the garden when we lived down the road.

Hi Fran the barrel is in the ground, only 4ins shows above the ground, so the frog can hop in and out using the plants which are in pots supported by bricks, will do a blog with photos soon.....
Lindak we have a small water lily and some reeds, hoping the lily will flower this year as it now has more sun, since we moved it, we had three quite large frogs take to it last time.....
Annella thanks...

I'm letting my little pond settle for this year then hoping to get a couple of fish next year. Gerry placed the reed on an upturned pot and I asked him to cut out a little door in the bottom of it so that eventually the fish will be able to go into the pot for shelter.
