My E.pininana are in a fairly sheltered site and I still lost them this winter, about -8 seems to be there limit on my soil, next years are already growing so here's hoping for a milder winter. :o)

They are well worth the effort Dd, I lose several but when they flower they are always a joy and alive with bees :o)))
