I have to have them supported Katarina. The name is correct.... flecks of crimson at the base of the center .
I have 3 Festiva Maxima bushes.

They do need a cold period Kaustubh. They are my most loved plants. They have no natural enemies (not even deer will eat them:-)), no exacting cultural requirements beyond lots of sun.

I dont think I have any luck with them if they need a cold period... The temp here is between 5 to 30 centigrade in monsoons and winters and an unbelievable 15 to 45 centigrade in summers...!
Just imagine 45 degrees Centigrade and Peonies... There go my dreams...!!!

Sorry, but they will not grow in that condition. I am sure you have other beautiful plants which we cannot grow here.

Yes the tropical plants do great... but you know as they say... the grass always seems greener on the other side.

Very nice chalices - is this Festiva Maxima? This one is usually very tall and stems are bending to soil when their flowers are fully developed.
