This is one that I've not added to the garden yet, mainly because I lost my seed! I have the white form though.

Oh dear wish I had not cut it down now, how stupid!!

I must admit that I NEVER cut the perennial Lobelia down until the following spring as the hollow stems allow water to run into the heart of the plant in the winter causing rot. Not to worry with this one though as it's easily the hardiest.

I got L.tupa through the winter in an exposed spot with just a mulch of conifer needles easily enough. Came back magnificently - here it is.....................

Can't remember who gave me the tip about leaving the old stems on, but it was someone on this forum.
