They normally produce plenty of seed if you want any, normally two years to flower

Bought an actea earlier this year - was disappointed it hasn't flowered. Maybe very very late up here!

Mine didnt thrive. It was a white one which I set by the pond, probably my clay in that area was too heavy plus the cold winter must have finished it off.

Girls the original is in the ground plenty of clay which dried out bad over the last couple of months that is picking up with the wet weather and starting to flower, the one you see is in a pot.
Dawn providing it has time to set will harvest some for you

I like the contrast between the dark foliage/stems and the blooms.

I have kept mine in a large pot and it has thrived this year after being moved to a shadier spot. Thanks Brian :o)

That is very pretty Brian I have an Actaea I don't know it's full name it's had red berries on it for ages ,I suspect it must be a different one to yours ...

Amy I have seen pictures of that it is a lot different to mine
just looked name is Actaea Rubra.
