Taken today on my phone, it is such a pretty colour and the form of this rose is beautiful. Second flush so it must like the new rose bed. :O) as do I :O)

I know, mine have been hit hard but for some reason they are recovering and now producing a lovely second flush and not as badly affected as they were. The Pilgrim was stripped of leaves and bare shoots only, but it is amazing just now with lots of flowers again. Weird think it might be the weather which affected them early on and now it is cooler and still sunny they seem to like it better.

Mine were awful too this summer, even the large pink flower carpet on the slope looked bad but the new growth looks a lot better :o)

Thanks Michaella :O))
Yes Annie it is good to see them recover. Wonder if it was the cold wet spring that set them off to a bad beginning. Mine are all recovering well too.

I don't like to see them with bare stems, :(

Me neither Karen, but they are recovering. I nearly dug it out but thought of the cost of replacing and that made me more patient. It is pretty again now.:O)

It would be a good thing to bend the naked stems over and do the mound training thing. That way they wouldn't look so bad.

Such a lovely colour, and a nice shape. It's been a good summer for roses. This is the first time (in 40 years!) that I've had a second flush on the climbing Cecile Brunner. Perhaps I timed the cutting back at exactly the right time.

Wow Melchi...celebrate good times!

That is exactly what I did Karen, it worked well.
Thanks Pansy, it is a beautiful rose.
Thanks Melchi it is a fantastic colour strangely the second flush is much more pinker but turning bronzier now it is maturing. Well done on the second flush for Cecile Brunner, it all helps to keep the colour going that bit longer in the garden. :O)

I love this rose. The contrast of the antique peach with the very dark green is great! I haven't decided yet whether to go for a lot of roses in my new garden. The blackspot has been so awful here that I just don't know whether they are worth it. The ones that have good resistance to it are definitely invited....but that's not very many. :(
