Is that just a leaf? It's rather difficult to tell from the photo. Sometimes the leaves start to grow before the flower bud starts to appear in the neck of the bulb. Try & keep it in a light place, once the bud makes its way out of the bulb neck it will race away & in about 3-4 weeks it will open. Do you remember what colour it was?

Not a surprise really as this happens quite frequently. But I sometimes get a bulb that finishes flowering & yet there is not the slightest sign of a leaf coming out! Later the leaves do follow but it's strange to see not a sign even in the neck of the bulb! Others are just the opposite, they grow all leaves but don't flower until months afterwards! Every bulb is different. You only realize that when you are growing lots of them - like me!

The same goes for dogs, & cats I imagine, & Budgies. We had 5 little dogs for 15 years & each of them had its very own defined personality. We had 3 budgies at the same time for a few years when we lived in Spain & each one of them had its own personality.

Did you get yourself another one? I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it if you did.

I'm keeping mine dormant for the time being. They haven't had a drop of water since the end of August when I moved them into the GH on the allotment to protect them from any rain. Since being home with me again they still haven't had a drop of water yet to look at many on them you wouldn't imagine they haven't had a single drop of water in 4 months!
