I was going to say it is exciting waiting to see the end result but I'm going in reverse. Does it last long at each stage of its progress.

Amy yes it's been dumb few weeks of late but things are moving now the first snowdrops in the garden will be in flower in a couple of days ,other small crocus and Narcissus in the alpine house are well up now.
Sheila
Most things including the colchicum last longer than spring flowers I would think because it's cooler and nothing to fertilize them ,only me.lol

I noticed that Galanthus regina is still flowering and a second one seems to be growing alongside it. The first one seems to have lasted a very long time as you say because its cooler it takes its time. I wonder if plants suffer from arthritis lol.

Goodness! Snowdrops already as well Brian?! It's a different climate down there! We won't see them until February here. At the moment, all I have in flower is my potted coronilla. Oh well, it will soon be Christmas!
