Bendy conifer from the other side

This is the tree that I used as a marker to find my bungalow from the open ground at the back. That dead stuff on one side is new, courtesy of the last big blow - the bend would be more apparent otherwise

no, Gee, it's just beyond my fence, which is a small chicken-wire affair just in front of it. There's a belt of trees and shrubs along the back of our gardens, closing them off from the open ground beyond.
The fact that there's only a token fence shows how secure they make the gardens! Also there's a steep slope from the open ground to the fences: it's very hard to get up, as I found out! The growth is so tangled, and the planting so dense, that I had to fight my way up - and even then I could only reach next door's fence, I couldn't get to mine.
I suppose I'll have to prune this side of them, as otherwise they'd overhang

Are these in your garden, Fran? My neighbours had conifers like these in both back and front garden when I moved here but, fortunately, took them all out before they moved - much more light all round :)
