I have seen that done with Wisteria before but I have never seen it done that nicely before. We used to stake them at the nursery so they would have a twisted trunk but they never looked very good haha

That's a beautiful flowering display. I've seen several here in San Diego bloom and look like this...they're incredible! My friend has one which is gorgeous and it trained like this one.

Yes, Petrea species are tropical in origin. It would be too tender for Vancouver Island.
