LOL...thanks Pp. Old man winter has us firmly in his grasp and he will not let go. I'm concerned that if all this snow goes all at once...we may be lining up for the ark! Roll on spring.....?

shee, that's a broken" spring"! the weather has gone mad, or madder than usual - the "seasons" are way out of line with what's actually happening.
and that much melt going into the system all at once would defintely not be good news.

Is such heavy snowfall at this time of the year unusual for your part of the world Lori?

Seems our normal cold this year is stuck to the south! I have had grass patches since January! Mildest winter I have seen in many years. But you and all the way south from there seem to be getting winter storms and cold fronts galore. This snow reached a friend in Tennessee! I do hope you get some warmth and run off manages to find its way out.

Gt: I found a pic on facebook of the Iditarod being run over melting permafrost! Today, the 30th March, is cold and snowy here...we still have so much snow that it's not possible to get around in the bush without snowshoes. Makes tree tapping impossible...along with the fact that we haven't had the warm days and nights just below freezing that brings the sap up from the tree roots.
Resi: March is usually a very changeable month with rain and snow possible...this year however there has been no warmth in the month...(maybe two days) which is not normal. If you check the pattern of snow and cold this year you will see it follows the ancient ice age patterns...No snow in Alaska and Yukon, lots in eastern Canada. Let's hope this is not a major trend! At this rate we may not be free of snow until well into May. X-(
Amy: we are all grumpy with frustration. Perhaps it may be a good thing, as the spring buds will be covered by snow long enough to save them from the freeze/thaw stresses that have been the norm in recent years.
Klahanie: you will be going back to the island and a much better situation than here...I envy you.
Fran: "Broken"...oh my, yes. It's snowing!
