looks so cold Lori. I was complaining just yesterday how hot it is here (in Mexico) Time to go home, but it is not exactly "spring like" even on Vancouver Island

wow! not seen icicles like that in real life, thankfully.

I'd like snow to come down, look pretty for a day, then vanish, leaving no slush or sludge - thjink this much would be rather oer the top!

Klahanie: Don't have relatives on the "island" anymore...but I do remember their roses in February! My aunt lives in Sorrento, on Shuswap Lake and they have had snow lately as well. I find that I cannot stand the heat and perhaps it's been bred into my genetic code, but I really can withstand cold better than heat... call me crazy!
Fran: We are paying for the previous decade when our winters became very mild and short...This winter is much like the winters of my childhood. snow "oer the top" of your boots was very common then. ;-)

amazing icicles Lori....no problem sorting out ice for a drinks....is this a sign of a slight change in your weather? ours seems to have calmed down now so i wont be long getting up to you...:-)

Hard winters are needed to kill off last year's pests before the new batches emerge - we've had much more than usual because the adults survived the winter, and of course, laid more eggs. but short and sharp should do that - long enough to kill the pests but not enough to start killing old people!

It looks like a real winter wonderland but the longer it stays the shorter you summer Lori and thats not a nice thought !

Ohh we used to love sucking those icicles when i was little, good thing there was so much less polution in the air then! I am talking here about the time when little girls weren't allowed to go to school in long trousers in 'oer the top of our clogs' season, so we had to wear the trousers with a skirt over or the nuns would send us home. Cool or what...

I'm disappointed today...it was supposed to be warm(er) with some sunshine. It's mid morning and it's still overcast and cold...snowflakes blowing around...two days ago the Maritimes were hit by a winter "hurricane" and I'm wondering if you are feeling any effects across the wide Atlantic!?

lol warm(er) can be relative - a single degree change is tecnhically "warmer" but it sure don't feel like it! and the windchill can make it seem even colder.

I think it takes five days or so for weather to reach UK from US mainland; so at least we know what we've got coming!
