For the last few days I've stopped offering milk to the cat who comes around every now and then. He took a dim view of this new arrangement! I was standing at my back door when I saw him hop over the fence; he actually broke into a trot when wh saw me! but I stepped back and closed the door.

Went to the lounge window a while later to see if it was safe for me to open the door again, and realised it wasn't - if I'd opened the door een a tiny crack he'd hae been in. He gave up after a while and next time I looked, it was safe to go out.

But I'm going to have to get some kind of outer door screen so I don't have to remember to close the door behind me eery time - and so that i can look out and see if he's lurking nearby, ready to dive!

He always looked a bit cross anyway, think he can't help it, but he is definitely put out here!

Buf if he does have a home, me feeding him even a bit of milk now and then might be wrong - for all I know, he's on a medical diet or something, which is why he's mumping round other people's doors. and it might be "cute" now, but a couple of years down the line when he'll think he wons the place, insdie and out, and can come and go as he pleases ... not going to make my "suirrel" mistake twice! cute now is not cute later when they start wrecking the place

Yes ... best not to let him treat your place too much like a second home !
