My little plot

Treetop, lovely garden. Grass is a frustrating thing ... Just when you think you've cracked it, it all goes 'pear shaped' and you have to start all over again.

Lovely, I like the obelisk.

Looks a nice garden ... good solid fencing.

It was just a wilderness when we moved in 18 months ago. What can I do about my lawn, or should I say green part, without going to the expense of re-turfing it all?
If I put weed killer on it I will finish up with nothing LOL.

By the way the soil is very heavy clay.

Notice the bird box, top left of picture. Put it up on Saturday 5th April, believe it, or believe it not a pair of blue tits started nesting in it the following day. It's been a hive of activity ever since. Mrs Treetop cut my hair on Sunday last, I put my cut hair on the stone bench, within 10 minutes they were taking it into the nest. Absolutely amazing. Don't know what the chicks will make of having a grey nest when they hatch LOL.

Wow how lucky you are Tree top, Blue tits nesting so soon, will be interesting for you to watch all the activity; I have had them a few times over recent years [ last year it was Robins] but disappointed this year lots of birds in the garden but not seen any signs of actual nesting;0)

Hi Pansy, had a walk to the bottom of the garden yesterday. Found half of a egg shell under the nest box. Plenty of activity now, with birds coming and going regularly.

Fantastic keep your camera handy Treetop you never know your luck you may get a glimpse of the chicks, Idid a blog on my robins with pics of the chicks to a couple of years ago ;0)
